The perinatal period might be stressful for fathers, causing increased vulnerability for perinatal mental disorders (PMD). mHealth interventions may prevent PMD, however, the evidence in fathers is scarce. This study aims to describe the co-design and usability testing processes of an mHealth intervention to prevent PMD in fathers.

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) means that the research is being carried out with members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’, or ‘for’ them. Over the last decade, PPI has been considered a good practice required by research funders, and, regarding implementation science, it has been argued that PPI plays a crucial role in the promotion of health professionals' participation in research. Thus, it can be stated that PPI gives a wider perspective to analyze the implementation of complex interventions, since it considers the point of view of both patients and healthcare professionals (HP). Furthermore, PPI ensures that the implementation process is tailored appropriately to the local sociocultural context.
