Pharmaceutical care as a learning process: Case report

Abstract

The autonomy pedagogy allows the integration among theory, practice and reflection in the learning process. Applied to pharmaceutical care, the patient-centered process to achieve desired goals of therapy enables to build, rebuild and share knowledge and experiences with patients, in a critic and progressive way, inquiring and investigating. Therefore, it is possible to design a care plan according to patient experience, working together with the pharmaceutical care practitioner, to solve drugtherapy problems detected, with the patient as the center of the health care system.

La pedagogía de la autonomía permite la integración entre la teoría, la práctica y la reflexión en el proceso de enseñanza. Aplicada a la atención farmacéutica, proceso asistencial centrado en el paciente para optimizar los resultados de la farmacoterapia, permite construir, reconstruir y compartir con el paciente conocimientos y experiencias de manera crítica y progresiva, indagando e investigando. De esta forma, se puede construir un plan de cuidados adaptado a la experiencia del paciente, trabajando juntos paciente y farmacéutico, y resolver los problemas detectados, con el paciente como eje de la atención sanitaria
