Abstract:

Latin America has become a central region for the European interests. It is also a strategic area for China, which has grown in importance and influence in recent years, and for Russia, which is trying to gain public support in this region. Latin America is also very attractive for China and Russia because it is part of the Spanish-language communication market, where 496 million people speak Spanish as their first language. This paper studies their respective roles and demonstrates the importance of disinformation in Latin America and the risks of polarising the public opinion.
