Abstract:

This chapter examines the evolving role of Soft Power in modern conflicts, which increasingly extend beyond physical battlefields due to technological advancements and the asymmetric nature of contemporary warfare. While traditional military superiority remains important, the inability to secure sustainable victories without influencing public perceptions has highlighted the necessity of Soft Power strategies. The chapter begins by distinguishing Soft Power from Hard Power and exploring the modern mediums through which Soft Power is leveraged. Additionally, it provides a case study on the current Israel-Gaza conflict, demonstrating how various actors employ Soft Power tactics to influence narratives and public opinion both regionally and globally. This analysis underscores the growing importance of Soft Power in shaping the outcomes of modern conflicts.
