While researching on body politics to enhance capabilities, with a focus on menstruation as case study, and based on feminist epistemology and the importance of situated knowledges (Haraway, 1988), I conducted my auto-ethnography to make my stand-point explicit and to balance the power relation with other involved subjects. The aim of the paper is to point out pros and cons of starting from oneself as a tool to understand culture and foment feminist activist research.
